Small teams will gain the operating leverage of much larger companies.

Why I believe this

AI automation will allow small teams to handle work that once required large operating functions: research, analysis, customer support, internal reporting, workflows, documentation, and parts of product development.

This will not mean that every small team becomes a successful company. Teams will still need trust, direction, taste, distribution, and resilience.

But it will change what is possible.

The gap between a small, highly capable team and a much larger organisation will narrow in many areas. More people will be able to turn a strong idea into a real product without waiting for permission, funding, or a large team.

What would change my mind

If the maintenance, reliability, and coordination costs of AI systems consistently outweigh their operational benefits.
