Why I believe this

The most interesting new social products will not start by asking people to spend more time scrolling.

They will start with a useful action: learning, organising, collaborating, finding a relevant person, solving a problem, or participating in a community. The social layer will emerge because the product creates genuine value before it asks for attention.

People are exhausted by products that treat connection as content.

The next generation of social technology will need to earn trust by being useful first.

What would change my mind

If attention-first feeds remain the dominant way that new social products acquire and retain users.
